About the Job

The Wire Drawing Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining wire drawing machines to ensure the efficient production of high-quality galvanized wire. The role involves monitoring equipment, adjusting machine settings, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Operate wire drawing machines to reduce wire diameter according to production specifications.
Adjust machine settings, such as speed, tension, and lubrication, to achieve desired wire quality.
Continuously monitor the drawing process to detect defects or irregularities.
Conduct regular inspections of drawn wire for diameter, surface finish, and mechanical properties.
Identify and rectify defects such as wire breakages, scratches, or uneven thickness.
Ensure compliance with product specifications and quality control standards.
Perform autonomous maintenance and cleaning of wire drawing machines.
Identify and report mechanical issues to the shift engineer for repairs.
Adhere to workplace safety regulations and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and report any hazards or safety concerns.
Record production data, machine performance, and material usage in logbooks.
Report production output, downtime, and maintenance needs to supervisors.
Any other duties assigned.

Requirements

Diploma in Mechanical/Plant/Production Engineering from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience of industrial machine operation and wire drawing machinery.
Strong understanding of wire drawing principles and machine operation.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues.
Ensuring precision in wire dimensions and surface quality.
Knowledge of industrial safety practices and PPE usage.
Ability to work collaboratively in a production environment.
