About the Job

Tanathi Water Works Development Agency (TAWWDA) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, established under section 65 of the Water Act 2016. It covers Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, and Kajiado counties. The Agency is inviting applications for a Sociologist.

Responsibilities

Participating in the identification of relevant stakeholders.
Mobilizing communities for dissemination of information.
Assisting in carrying out socio-economic surveys and impact assessments.
Gathering information on the interests of stakeholders for inclusion in the formulation of policy by public institutions and organizations.
Updating the database of stakeholders in decision-making bodies.
Creating awareness among stakeholders on available opportunities and other empowerment initiatives.
Creating awareness of the Agency’s initiatives for stakeholders/community members empowerment.
Assisting in preparing proposals on community projects that require funding.
Assisting in identifying capacity building needs for community-based providers, NGOs, CBOs.
Participating in the identification of challenges affecting the formation and operationalization of Community Water and Sanitation Service Providers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, Community Development, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Meets the provisions of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
