About the Job

The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) is establishing a database for Short Term Fixed Contract Staff, Research Assistants, Enumerators, and Casuals. Opportunities will arise on an as-needed basis. This specific category is for positions in the Technical Departments. Fixed Term Contract staff are engaged for a defined period for positions in the staff establishment with an approved budget, supporting Research Departments. The role provides an opportunity for on-the-job experience and professional development. The database will be valid for two years.

Responsibilities

• For Research Assistants: Aiding primary researchers in gathering data and information via studies, surveys, and other methods relevant to a project and its associated activities.
• Specific responsibilities for Fixed Term Contract Staff in Technical Departments are not explicitly detailed but involve supporting the functions of the listed technical departments.

Requirements

• Qualifications: Minimum of a Master’s degree from a recognized Institution in one of the following disciplines: Economics or related Social Sciences, Curriculum Development, Gender Studies, Public Policy, Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Criminology, Governance, Urban Planning, Agriculture, Political Science, Library & Information, Information Science, Publishing.
• Personal Attributes:
  • Should possess interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Knowledge of basic statistical software for data entry, extraction and reporting including (STATA, SPSS, E-VIEWS).
  • For graphic designers: possess computer Skills in desktop publishing software’s.
