Job Description:

Responsibilities

Preparation of performance contract reports to be presented to the performance monitoring and evaluation unit for forwarding to the public procurement oversight authority to ensure procurement activities comply with the statutory regulations.
Ensure effective purchase of all goods and services required for facilitation of efficient execution of daily duties.
Supervision of stores on a daily basis for effective stock management in order to facilitate implementation of effective and efficient University College operations.
Prepare requisitions and purchase orders.
Maintain and update a list of suppliers and their qualifications.
Negotiate with suppliers for the best prices and terms.
Receive and inspect goods and services to ensure they meet specifications.
Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
Prepare and submit reports on procurement activities to management.
Ensure compliance with all procurement policies and procedures.
Ensure adherence to public procurement and disposal act 2015 and the regulations there under.
Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all University College assets.
Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of bids.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements

Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management OR
Must have a Higher Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Chain Management with six (6) years working experience three (3) of which as Senior Procurement/Supplies Assistant Scale 7 or its equivalent OR
Must have a Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Chain Management with nine (9) years working experience three (3) of which as Senior Procurement/Supplies Assistant Scale 7 or its equivalent.
Should be registered with a relevant professional body.
Must be ICT Competent (provide evidence).
