About the Job

This is an entry and training grade for diploma holders in Medical Laboratory Science within Vihiga County. The officer will work under the supervision of experienced personnel, carrying out various laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities

Documenting working benches.
Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens.
Prepping clients for collection of specimen.
Receiving, collecting, labeling and registering of specimen.
Disaggregating specimens for processing and analyses.
Preparing regents.
Examining specimens.
Writing and recording of results.
Dispatching the results for use in clinical management.
Preparing stains.
Performing blood grouping.
Issuing blood and blood products to peripheral health facilities.
Storing blood products according to their requirements.

Requirements

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board.
Registration certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board [KMLTTB].
Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board.
Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized Institution.
