About the Job
The Medical Laboratory Technologist III is responsible for decontaminating work benches, receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens, and collecting, labelling, and registering specimens. They will also disaggregate specimens for processing and analysis, prepare reagents, and examine specimens. Their duties include writing, recording, and dispatching results for clinical management.
Responsibilities
Decontaminating working benches.
Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens.
Receiving and collecting, labelling and registering specimens.
Disaggregating specimens for processing and analyses.
Preparing reagents; examining specimens; writing and recording of results dispatching the results for use in clinical management.
Preparing stains.
Performing blood grouping; issuing blood and blood products to peripheral health facilities.
Storing blood products according to their requirements.
Requirements
A minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (plain) or its equivalent qualification.
A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologists Board.
A Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologists Board.
Certificate in computer application skills will be an added advantage.
