This position involves managing specific sections or aspects of library services, overseeing daily operations and ensuring efficient service delivery, supervising and evaluating library staff within the assigned section, and assisting in collection development and management.

Assisting in collection development and management
Ensuring proper organization and accessibility of library resources
Providing reference and research assistance to library users
Implementing library policies and procedures
Maintaining library statistics and preparing reports
Managing library systems and technologies related to the assigned section
Handling user inquiries and resolving issues
Conducting library instruction and outreach programs
Assisting in budgeting and financial management for the section
Staying updated on library trends and technologies
Collaborating with other library sections and departments
Ensuring a conducive learning environment for library users
Participating in library strategic planning initiatives
Undertaking any other duties as may be assigned

Requirements

Served in the grade of Senior Library Officer or in a comparable and relevant position in the public or private sector for a minimum period of three (3) years
Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science, Information Science, or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution
Relevant technical and professional certification from a recognized institution
Registered with relevant professional body (where applicable)
Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized and accredited institution
Proficiency in computer applications
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
