About the Job
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 171 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 to promote and facilitate the independence and accountability of the Judiciary and the efficient, effective, and transparent administration of justice. Following the declaration of vacancies in the Office of Judge of the High Court vide Gazette Notice No. 7320 dated 4th June 2025, the JSC invites applications from qualified persons to fill the vacancies pursuant to Article 172(1)(a) and as read with Article 166 (1)(b), (2) and (5), Section 30 of the Judicial Service Act and the First Schedule of the Judicial Service Act (No. 1 of 2011). A Judge of the Environment and Land Court shall serve in any Environment and Land Court station in Kenya. The functions and jurisdiction of the Court is provided for under Article 162(2)(b) of the Constitution as read with Part III of the Environment and Land Court Act, Cap 80.
Responsibilities
Serve in any Environment and Land Court station in Kenya.
Perform functions and exercise jurisdiction as provided for under Article 162(2)(b) of the Constitution as read with Part III of the Environment and Land Court Act, Cap 80.
Requirements
Hold a law degree from a recognized university, or be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, or possess an equivalent qualification in a Common-law jurisdiction.

High level of Integrity.
Professional and Technical competence.
