About the Job

The County Clinical Coordinators will be responsible for recruitment, follow-up, retention and monitoring of study participants in accordance with the ICH GCP standards, local ethical and regulatory approval requirements, the study protocol, and the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Ndovu Study. The holder of this position will provide oversight of site staff participating in the Study.

Responsibilities

Supervise the study staff at designated study sites within the county.
Ensure adherence to study protocols, ICH GCP guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the informed consent process and ensure ethical conduct of the study.
Monitor participant recruitment, enrolment, and retention targets.
Conduct regular site visits to ensure data quality, source document verification, and site readiness.
Provide ongoing training and mentorship to study site staff.
Manage study supplies and equipment at the county level.
Facilitate communication between the coordinating center and study sites.
Address and resolve issues related to study conduct at the county level.
Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the study management team.
Ensure timely and accurate data collection and entry.
Participate in study team meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
Ensure confidentiality and privacy of participant information.
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) or Bachelor of Clinical Medicine and Community Health (BCMCH) from a recognized institution.
Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
At least three (3) years of clinical experience, preferably in a research setting.
Proficiency in ICH GCP guidelines and ethical research practices.
Experience in clinical trial coordination or site management will be an added advantage.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned county.
Certification in the National Advanced HIV Clinical Course is an added advantage.
