About the Job

This role at Finserve Africa Ltd (a subsidiary of Equity Group) focuses on expanding the customer base and achieving sales targets in the Coast region of Kenya. The manager will work closely with regional and branch teams, supervise a sales team remotely, and set individual targets. The position requires a strategic mindset, self-drive, and experience in branch operations and payments & channels.

Responsibilities

Own Finserve activities, products, and sales targets in the Coast Region.
Develop and implement regional sales strategies and action plans.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and identify growth opportunities.
Provide inputs for expansion and acquisition decisions.
Recruit, train, and manage a team of salespeople.
Provide coaching and mentoring to the sales team.
Conduct regular performance reviews.
Facilitate communication within the team and with stakeholders.
Manage conflicts and resolve issues.
Remove impediments to the team’s progress.
Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.
Identify key ecosystems to drive product uptake.
Support marketing activities to ensure brand awareness and visibility.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Negotiate contracts and close sales with key clients.
Support Branch Equitel Sales Desk operations.
Make and document daily trade visits.
Evaluate daily performance and provide feedback.
Originate, manage, and convert enterprise sales pipelines.
Prepare sales forecasts and report on regional sales results.
Coordinate with other teams for timely product delivery.
Create detailed project plans.
Develop and manage the regional sales budget.
Monitor expenses.
Work closely with the marketing team on regional campaigns.
Report on regional sales results via various channels.
Communicate sales activities and performance to senior management.
Collaborate with other teams and Regional Sales Managers.
Ensure the sales team adheres to company policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions.
Prepare, present, and defend sales performance.

Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, Marketing, or a related field. Proven experience in sales management (minimum 5-7 years in sales, with at least 2-3 years in a sales management role).
Key Competencies: Strong leadership and team management skills, ability to coach and develop team members, proficiency in analyzing market trends and customer needs, ability to deliver presentations, ability to effectively use digital tools and technologies, excellent communication/negotiation/interpersonal skills, ability to analyze sales data, proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite, willingness to travel within the region.
