About the Job

The Public Communications Officer III (Sign Language Interpreter) position is offered on a three-year contract. This role involves performing a wide variety of Kenyan Sign Language (KSL) interpretation in various settings and conducting research on technical or complex information for interpretation.

Responsibilities

Performing a wide variety of Kenyan Sign Language (KSL) interpretation in a variety of settings which includes all departments, staff meetings, field trips, workshops, trainings, seminars, conferences, and events, and other organizational settings.
Obtaining and reviewing the material containing the information to be interpreted.
Conduct research on technical information or complex information to gain an understanding of what will be interpreted.

Requirements

Diploma in the following disciplines: Communications, Sociology, Deaf Studies, Linguistics, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certification from a recognized interpreter certification.
