About the Job
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director is responsible for leading the strategic direction, operational excellence, and control of New KCC’s entire supply chain to deliver high-quality milk and milk products in local and international markets while maximising stakeholder value through efficient resource utilisation.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and oversight in the development and implementation of New KCC’s vision, mission, and long-term goals.
Drive the formulation and execution of business strategies to enhance market position, profitability, and sustainability.
Lead the entire supply chain, ensuring efficient procurement of raw milk, optimal processing, quality control, and timely distribution of finished products.
Foster a culture of innovation, productivity, and accountability across all operational aspects.
Oversee financial performance, ensuring prudent management of resources, adherence to budgets, and achievement of financial targets.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers, suppliers, distributors, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and corporate governance principles.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, market expansion, and product development initiatives to drive growth.
Act as the primary spokesperson for New KCC, representing the company in public forums, industry events, and stakeholder engagements.
Develop and implement strategies for talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning within the organization.
Promote corporate social responsibility initiatives and ensure sustainable business practices.
Present regular reports to the Board of Directors on company performance, strategic initiatives, and market conditions.
Carry out any other responsibilities necessary for achieving the organisation’s objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Dairy Science, Food Science, Economics, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field from a recognized institution.
A Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant working experience, with at least ten (10) years in a senior leadership or management position in a reputable organization.
Proven experience in managing large-scale operations, preferably in the dairy or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
Demonstrated strategic planning and execution capabilities, with a track record of achieving business growth and operational excellence.
Strong understanding of financial management, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
Proficiency in developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Membership in a relevant professional body.
Certificate in Corporate Governance from a recognized institution.
Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in standard office applications and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
In addition, candidates must meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya and possess the following documents:
Tax Compliance Certificate from KRA.
Clearance Certificate from HELB.
Clearance from EACC.
Certificate of Good Conduct from DCI.
Report from a Credit Reference Bureau.
