About the Job

Permanent position responsible for initiating and participating in trade related policies development, ensuring management and administration of trade and business development services, and advising on issues relating to trade and trade development in the county. The role also involves conducting research on trade and related issues, developing training proposals, marketing the county, monitoring and evaluating trade development projects, developing SMEs, collecting and disseminating business information, promoting export business, organizing outreach activities, and managing county loans scheme.

Responsibilities

Initiate and participate in trade related policies development.
Ensure management and administration of trade and business development services.
Advise on issues relating to trade and trade development in the county.
Conduct research on trade and related issues for the county.
Develop training proposals on trade development.
Market the county as an investment destination.
Monitor and evaluate trade development projects and programmes.
Development of SME’s engaged in trade.
Collect, analyse and disseminate business information and management of county business information centre’s.
Promoting of export business and domesticating inter-county regional and international trade at county level.
Organize outreach activities and networking with trade related agencies.
Day to day operation of county loans scheme.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as shall be delegated from time to time.

Requirements

Have a Bachelor’s Degree from a University recognized in Kenya in the following: Commerce, Business Management, Business Administration, project management or any other relevant degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
Must have either seven (7) years demonstrable and proven experience, three (3) of which must have been at Job Group CPSB 05/P or its equivalent from the public.
Possess Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
A post graduate qualification in a relevant field and proven experience in a regulatory framework will be an added advantage.
