About the Job:
This position serves as a liaison and trusted financial advisor to the Commercial Function. The role supports sustainable strategic growth through the provision of various financial analyses to aid in decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning (Collaborate on 3-year plan and annual budgets, review phasing of Commercial Expense lines, provide strategic insights, assist in forecasts).
- Cost Control (Develop, monitor, and control commercial budgets, contribute to budgeting/forecasting, foster financial awareness, review and approve business cases/expense claims, analyze and provide strategic guidance on credit limits).
- Financial Reporting and Analysis (Manage pricing and product costs, take responsibility for revenue generation through analysis, partner with Marketing Manager on business cases, collate competitor pricing, prepare and record accruals/provisions, review monthly GLs, collaborate on presentation dashboards).
- Trade & Marketing Activities (Develop, recommend, and manage promotional/incentive schemes, collaborate with Marketing team on activity plans, provide guidance on commercial investment business cases, partner with Sales team to craft profit stories).
- Continuous process improvement mindset (Adopt and drive Continuous Improvement, facilitate innovation).
- Stakeholder management (Collaborate on brand investment optimization, participate in Commercial Leadership Forums, collaborate on operational efficiencies, set up offers in ERP, process free issue stocks, engage and communicate effectively).
Requirements:
- Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage.
- Professional Qualifications: Professional qualification in Finance or Accounting (e.g., CFA, CPA-K or equivalent). Professional membership with a professional body (e.g., ICPAK, ACCA or equivalent).
- Experience: At least 6 years of experience, with 2 years in a management role in a similar role or busy function. Experience in a senior financial planning / senior commercial finance role function in the FMCG industry or manufacturing is an added advantage. Practical experience with MS packages and ERP systems. Good grasp of investment and portfolio management.
- Competencies:
- Technical: Strong analytical problem-solving, accurate and structured approach, knowledge of cash flow management, understanding of accounting standards, proficient in ERP systems, capable of financial reporting, risk assessment, business data analysis, stakeholder management, tax compliance.
- Behavioural: Proficient in analyzing complex data, lead and motivate teams, make informed decisions, support professional growth, communicate effectively, manage relationships, negotiation skills.
