About the Job

Permanent/Contract position responsible for promoting fish farming at the ward level, providing fisheries extension services, collecting fisheries statistical data, maintaining fishfarms and hatcheries, participating in monitoring, control and surveillance (MCS) of fisheries resources, elementary water examination for signs of pollution, assisting in the production and selection of fish seed and stocking feeding and harvesting of fish ponds, compiling fisheries monthly reports, and assisting in implementation of directorate’s projects and programmes.

Responsibilities

Promote fish farming at the ward level.
Providing fisheries extension services.
Collecting fisheries statistical data.
Maintaining fishfarms and hatcheries.
Participating in mornitoring, control and surveillance (MCS) of fisheries resources and elementary water examination for signs of pollution.
Assisting in the production and selection of fish seed and stocking feeding and harvesting of fish ponds.
Compile fisheries monthly reports.
Assist in implementation of directorate’s projects and programmes.
Requirement for Appointment:
A diploma in Fisheries or related field from a recognized institution.
A certificate of computer application from a recognized institution.
Must satisfy chapter six of the constitution of Kenya.
One year experience in fisheries activities.
Be a Kenyan Citizen.
