About the Job
The Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) is seeking a Principal Security Officer responsible for securing premises and personnel, monitoring surveillance equipment, and investigating security lapses in liaison with law enforcement agencies. This role involves ensuring the overall safety and security of the Corporation’s assets and staff.
Responsibilities
Securing premises and personnel by patrolling property.
Monitoring surveillance equipment.
Inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points.
Permitting entry and raising alarm in case of Security breach.
Preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities.
Informing violators of policy and procedures.
Completing reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
Ensuring operation of security equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
Investigating incidences of security lapse in the Corporation in liaison with the Police and other security agencies.
Overseeing the provision of security for premises and staff.
Overseeing the design, implementation, and periodic review of security systems.
Ensuring all the doors around the offices are properly locked after working hours.
Requirements
A minimum period of eight (8) years in the disciplined forces and attained the rank of Chief Inspector and at least three (3) years of which should have been in Supervisory role in public or private sector.
Masters degree in Criminology, Security Management or any other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.
Bachelors degree in Criminology, Arts or any other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.
Certificate in management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Physically, mentally and medically fit.
Professional qualification and membership to a relevant Professional body.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Fulfilled the requirement of Chapter Six of Constitution.
