About the Job

Vihiga County Public Service Board is recruiting Morticians to carry out duties in the mortuary, including receiving and preparing bodies, assisting in post-mortems, and counseling relatives.

Responsibilities

Collecting and receiving bodies within the hospital and outside through the prescribed procedures.
Recording bodies received.
Washing the bodies, embalming, and refrigeration.
Scrubbing and assisting in post mortems.
Counselling the relatives.
Releasing the bodies to the relatives as per the laid procedures.

Requirements

Be a Kenyan citizen.
Possess a Certificate in mortuary science.
At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in a busy mortuary or a reputable Funeral Home.
Attained a mean grade of D (Plain) at Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Training in embalming and grief counseling.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong English and Swahili language skills.
