This role involves assisting in the implementation of procurement plans and strategies, preparing tender documents, quotation requests, and purchase orders. It also includes conducting market surveys and research for goods and services, and managing supplier interactions.
Responsibilities
Assisting in the implementation of procurement plans and strategies
Preparing tender documents, quotation requests, and purchase orders
Conducting market surveys and research for goods and services
Managing supplier interactions, including handling inquiries and processing invoices
Participating in tender evaluation and negotiation committees
Monitoring contract performance and ensuring timely delivery of goods/services
Maintaining procurement records and databases
Assisting in the resolution of supplier issues and disputes
Preparing procurement reports and status updates
Ensuring adherence to procurement policies and regulations
Coordinating with user departments on their procurement needs
Assisting in inventory management and disposal of obsolete items
Providing support for e-procurement system operations
Undertaking any other duties as may be assigned
Requirements
Served in the grade of Procurement Officer I or in a comparable and relevant position in the public or private sector for a minimum period of three (3) years
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Purchasing and Supplies, Logistics, Commerce (Supplies Option), or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution
Relevant technical and professional certification from a recognized institution (added advantage)
Registered with relevant professional body (where applicable)
Proficiency in computer applications
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
