About the Job
This role involves managing security operations, including planning, coordinating, and directing security activities. It also includes developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and protocols, conducting security risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies, and supervising, training, and evaluating security personnel.
Responsibilities
Managing security operations, including planning, coordinating, and directing security activities
Developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and protocols
Conducting security risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies
Supervising, training, and evaluating security personnel
Investigating security incidents, breaches, and suspicious activities
Liaising with law enforcement agencies and other external security organizations
Managing security systems and technologies (e.g., CCTV, access control, alarms)
Developing and implementing emergency response plans
Ensuring compliance with security regulations and standards
Preparing and submitting security reports and analyses
Conducting security awareness training for staff and students
Managing the security budget and resources
Implementing crime prevention strategies
Advising management on security matters
Undertaking any other duties as may be assigned
Requirements
Served in the grade of Senior Security Officer or in a comparable and relevant position in the public or private sector for a minimum period of three (3) years
Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution
Relevant technical and professional certification (e.g., in security management, investigations)
Proficiency in computer applications
Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized and accredited institution
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
