About the Job
The Producer will be responsible for overseeing the pre- and post-production of podcasts, from initiation to delivery. This role also involves managing the video and audio production of the podcast and will be on a contractual basis within prescribed times.
Responsibilities
Pre-production Planning:
Work with hosts and writers to plan each podcast episode.
Set up a schedule for each step in production to ensure timely completion.
Coordinate guest bookings, scriptwriting, and other preparations.
Obtain permissions for music, sound effects, or any outside content to avoid future issues.
Project Management and Communication:
Keep all team members updated on progress and resolve any emerging problems.
Adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines and keep the project on track.
Report project status to management and handle any production challenges.
Management of Resources:
Properly manage resources and time to ensure delivery within the allocated budget, while keeping podcast episodes on track.
Undertake budgeting and planning of provided resources.
Collaboration:
Serve as a liaison between the podcast team and coordinate with guests.
Keep abreast with Industry Trends:
Continuously explore and implement new formats, ideas, and technologies to improve the podcast.
Performance Management of the Podcast Episodes:
Evaluate the podcast team’s work (e.g., planning, budgeting) and provide a report with recommendations.
Quality control and Post Production:
Edit and ensure each episode is polished and meets company standards (clear, high-quality audio aligned with brand style).
Review edits and suggest any changes for quality and consistency.
Prepare the final product for release and upload to distribution platforms.
Constitute a crew to work with:
Identify and assemble the members of the crew for collaboration.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Podcast Producer or in audio and visual production.
Proficiency in audio editing software such as Adobe Audition, Audacity, or similar tools.
Strong storytelling and scriptwriting skills.
Familiarity with podcast distribution platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.).
Ability to manage production schedules and deadlines efficiently.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Knowledge of sound design and audio mixing techniques.
Experience with recording equipment and setting up podcast studios.
Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
