About the Job

Melbourne Group Of Companies is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Research Analyst to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

Conduct economic, industry, and market research to support business strategy and investment decisions.
Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts.
Analyze company and sector performance using quantitative and qualitative methods.
Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in data gathering and interpretation using Excel and other analytical tools.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (BCom), Finance, or Economics.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.
Demonstrated experience or knowledge in financial modelling and valuation techniques.
Must possess at least one complete financial model of any sector (to be submitted as part of the application).
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
1 or more years prior experience in research, analytics, or financial services is a plus.
Familiarity with financial databases and data visualization tools is an added advantage.
