About the Job

Kenya BioVax Institute Ltd is a State-owned Company with the mandate to manufacture and commercialize safe, effective, and quality vaccines and biologics, and to improve access to affordable healthcare through health commodity security. The Senior Quality Assurance Officer will ensure compliance of processes and products to established industry standards, specifications, and procedures, and ensure the quality system is implemented and its integrity maintained.

Responsibilities

Analyze raw materials, intermediates, standards, and finished products.
Ensure safety standards and cleanliness of laboratory are maintained.
Prepare deviation reports, testing protocols, and trend analyses in technical reports.
Conduct assessment on new technologies and methods to make recommendations regarding their usage.
Write/revise standard quality control operating procedures.
Monitor storage conditions for materials and products.
Ensure performance and evaluation of in-process controls.
Evaluate and sign Quality Assurance records.
Implement Standard Operation Procedures.
Undertake process validations and calibrations of control equipment.
Undertake drawing up equipment specifications and modifications.
Prepare and submit periodic reports.

Requirements

A minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Biometry, Medicine, Virology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Applied biology, General biology, Animal Science, Medical Laboratory sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Science Environmental science or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Training in Current Good Manufacturing practices (cGMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Training in Quality Management Systems.
Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
