About the Job

The Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) is seeking two (2) Deckhands. These roles are responsible for the safe operation of search and rescue boats during operations. They ensure the ready availability of search and rescue boats and maintain search and rescue equipment on board. They also provide marine transport service for survey and inspection.

Responsibilities

Assist in coxswain in safe embarkation and disembarkation of boat passengers.
Assist in the maintenance of boat search and rescue equipment.
Assist in search and rescue operations.
Assist in routine housekeeping of search and rescue boats.
Assist in basic maintenance of the boat.
Assist in executing shifting orders of search and rescue boats.
Assist in look out during search and rescue operations.

Requirements

Certificate of Proficiency as Coxswain in accordance with the Merchant Shipping (Training and Certification) Regulations as amended or equivalent from a recognized institution.
KCSE D plain or equivalent.
