About the Job

The Disaster Management II position is permanent and pensionable within Job Group ‘J’. This role focuses on maintaining relationships with emergency responders, assisting in developing communication plans, and assessing damage after a disaster.

Responsibilities

Maintain relationships with emergency responders, such as fire departments, police departments, and paramedics, to ensure that they are prepared to respond to disasters and emergencies in sub-counties.
Assist in developing communication plans to ensure that stakeholders and the public are informed about disasters and emergency response efforts.
Assess the damage and identify the needs of the affected community or organization after a disaster or emergency.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in disaster risk reduction.
Any other duty that the Supervisor may assign.

Requirements

Diploma in Disaster Management disciplines or its equivalent.
Served in graded. Disaster Management Officer III in a comparable position for minimum periods of 3 years and shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
