About the Job

Mount Kenya University (MKU) is a chartered and ISO 9001:2015 certified University that aims to provide a broad-based, holistic, and inclusive education system. They are seeking two Student Recruitment Officers for their Nairobi Campus and Embu ODEL Centre. These roles are crucial in attracting, developing, and retaining suitably qualified staff to maintain the University’s competitive edge.

Responsibilities

Represent MKU in targeting visits to potential clients to speak to individuals and groups to promote outreach activities.
Develop, coordinate, and deliver outreach programs and marketing strategies, arranging visits and tours for prospective students and parents.
Act as the focal contact person for internal coordination of university student recruitment and enrollment processes.
Develop promotional materials and information from the university and its colleges, educational programs, and degrees.
Prepare reports and proposals regarding recruitment and outreach activities, and respond to inquiries from students.
Create packages, monitor, and distribute resource materials for student recruitment and retention programs.
Develop mentorship programs and analyze trends in recruitment and retention for MKU.
Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the section or departmental head.

Requirements

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Public relations/Communication or in any other related area of specialization.
Must have computer literacy.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a comparable position or in grade 9 in MKU.
OR Higher National Diploma in a Marketing/Public relations/Communication or in any other related area of specialization or a professional qualification.
Five (5) years’ experience in a comparable position or in grade 9 in MKU.
