About the Job

We are looking for experienced Steel Fixers and Fabricators to join our team. The ideal candidates will have strong knowledge of interpreting technical drawings, bending and cutting steel bars and mesh, and assembling them to reinforce concrete structures. This role is vital to ensuring the structural integrity of buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Steel Fixer:
  • Read and interpret technical blueprints and structural drawings.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and install steel bars (rebars), mesh, or steel reinforcement.
  • Position, align, and secure steel bars using wire, clips, or welding equipment.
  • Set out work areas and prepare reinforcement for concrete pours.
  • Assemble and fix prefabricated reinforcement cages or mats.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Collaborate with other trades on-site to meet construction deadlines.
• Fabricator:
  • Cut, shape, and weld steel and metal components according to specifications.
  • Fabricate metal structures and frames based on technical drawings.
  • Operate fabrication machinery such as shears, rollers, grinders, and welders.
  • Ensure quality control of fabricated components and accurate measurements.
  • Repair or modify existing metal structures as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace with adherence to safety standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a steel fixer or fabricator in a construction or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and plans.
• Proficient in handling hand tools, cutting and bending equipment, and welding tools.
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
• Physical stamina and strength for heavy lifting and long hours.
• Relevant certification or training welding certificate is preferred.
• (Desirable:) Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or commercial construction projects.
• (Desirable:) Knowledge of different types of welding techniques.
• (Desirable:) Basic math and measurement skills.
