About the Job:

This role is responsible for providing strategic financial and logistical insights and support to the Director, Supply Chain. The position focuses on driving strategic initiatives, offering impactful advice, ensuring successful execution of Supply Chain initiatives aligned with business goals, and enhancing shareholder value by setting and supporting challenging financial and non-financial targets within a robust financial control environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning (Collaborate on 3-year plan and annual budgets, optimize performance, execute commercial strategies, provide strategic insights, assist in forecasts).
  • Cost Control and Management (Develop, monitor, and control Supply Chain budgets, champion cost management strategy, contribute to budgeting/forecasting, foster financial awareness, review and approve business cases/expense claims, lead product cost and inventory analysis, monitor quantity/price variances, carry out cost accounting).
  • Continuous process improvement mindset (Adopt and drive Continuous Improvement, facilitate innovation).
  • Financial analysis and reporting (Perform value stream costing, collaborate with production planning, generate reports, provide CAPEX financial analysis, identify financial risks, ensure adherence to controls).
  • Stakeholder management (Build relationships with suppliers, collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and logistics teams, work closely with relevant teams to align activities).

Requirements:

  • Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage.
  • Professional Qualifications: Professional qualification in Finance or Accounting (e.g., CFA, CPA-K or equivalent). Professional membership with a professional body (e.g., ICPAK, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Experience: At least 6 years of experience, with 2 years in a management role in a similar role or busy function. Experience in a senior financial planning role in the FMCG industry or manufacturing is an added advantage. Practical experience with MS packages and ERP systems. Good grasp of investment and portfolio management.
  • Competencies:
    • Technical: Strong analytical problem-solving, accurate and structured approach, knowledge of cash flow management, understanding of accounting standards, proficient in ERP systems, capable of financial reporting, risk assessment, business data analysis, stakeholder management, tax compliance.
    • Behavioural: Proficient in analyzing complex data, lead and motivate teams, make informed decisions, support professional growth, communicate effectively, manage relationships, negotiation skills.
